metal detecting Vacation?

What would be you're places to go if you were wanting to go on a metal detecting vacation, and hopefully find enough to help offset the cost of the vacation.?
Europe is out of the running, would love to do the jimmy Seiarra thing but not in the budget this year.

I 'd like to look like crackbadger at the end of the trip

trying to get some thoughts to plan something.

I was thinking Jamaica, or Puerto Vallarta Mexico. I would go where there are a lot of tourists. Jamaica you might get mugged, but you would be alright in Puerto Vallarta, just stay where all the people are, don't go to secluded beaches.

I have only been metal detecting once though, so I am probably not a subject matter expert on where to go, but I do remember the last time I was in Mexico, the beach was just covered in tourists.

What kind of metal detector do you have? That will make a difference on what you will find and where to go.

Ibiza or any good spanish resort with a famous beach. Many Brits & Germans pay for the trip & some.

Alaska or Arizona for nugget hunting...If you have a gold detector. Both places are places that I have always wanted to go. You can find detect for nuggets, pan, sluice, or dry wash for gold. Might get enough to pay for the trip and have some left over.
