Metal detectors in Spain
Q. We brought two cheap metal detectors to Spain to help keep our teenage children occupied on the beach opposite our apartment during winter months, but on their first day out they received a warning from a local who told them that without a license their activities were illegal. We since been told by a local British bar owner that this is absolute rubbish! What is the situation, is their any law banning metal detectors from beaches, and/or do we indeed have to apply for a license as first suggested? Our children have since continued with their detectors with no other similar challenges.
