meteorit OR what ?!?!?

was hunting field, and found this thing, dont have a idea what it is except mybe meteorit, its not havy at all, and my detector sounding when i go over it so it have some metals inside, and yeah its not magnetic ... :icon_scratch:

if some1 is familiar with those kind of items, help

Looks like it may be a lump of slag from oxy acetylene cutting, maybe an onsite repair?

yea, I am know meteorite expert but that sure looks like slag from a forge or torch.

My opinion...

I ask ?
What was the circumstances where it was found like, lying on top of a freshly plowed field or was it found somewhere "slag " would be present .
I,m no expert and have never handled a stony type meteorite , but would think it might be heavier :dontknow:

I always keep such finds just in case maybe sometime you could have an expert look at it in the future.
I hope it is one good luck..

no its not fresh plowded field even that field its not touched for few months, in that field starts shows a bit of grass, and that black thing it was peek out of ground...just now (something cross my mind)... 20 m from that field its road near the forest that is so unnatural black colored, on road there is not so big pices like pice i found, but road seems like dust from that big thing i found, so if its same thing as the road, only question left is why its metal inside ?

Meteorites are dense and heavy. This is slag. Fun to find though eh?

Hmmm. Maybe a large piece left over from the roads construction.
& and as for the metal in it -I wish I knew.

I live in the old smelter town of Pueblo, Colorado. I dunno why but this stuff is everywhere here. I believe it is coke, made from coal and that it somehow has iron or some kind of metal in it. Maybe it got metalized during the firing process? Sure makes the detector go off!

It is my understanding that meteorites contain iron and a magnet will stick to them. If there are other kinds, I am not aware of them. Maybe it is a surviving part of some satellite that fell back to earth

Without an expert analysis, you may never know. Just put it up on eBay as a "possible" meteorite.......you may get a fortune for it!
