THe Odessa crater is now a County Park with museum and staff. Trespassers looking for meteorites will be prosecuted.

Its another zone lost to us meteorite hunters.

sigh...

Well!
You know Texas!
*90% Private and 10% Public Land !
Not!
Like out west, where it's just about the opposite!

While you're out there, in West Texas, Drop by, not into! ::) The Devils Hole!
Now!
There's an interesting Place/Site!

Screw Texas! Just do a Hit and Run! Don't let anyone tell you what and where you can hunt. If you are an American Citizen then you have a right to go anywhere you want in this country. I've been finding No Trespassing signs posted on public land for years. Just be smart and don't blab about what your doing. You'll be fine. It takes 3/4 of an hour for cops to get to an emergency, I think you are fairly safe looking for meteorites out in the boonies.
Just don't be stupid and hurt the other people out there who hunt, by making a mess, or destructing property.
