I have posted this find over on the "Today's Finds" thread as well.

I hope it is OK to post the picture and details here as well.

My fiance found this item while metal detecting this afternoon.

It is positive on his detector and with the pin pointer.

It REPELS a magnet.

Strangest thing...not a strong repulsion like you would experience with opposite poles of a magnet, but a repulsion none-the-less.

Any information would be greatly appreciated!!

Not a meteorite, and looks manufactured. A Piece of something.
 

Loadstone? A naturally occurring magnetic stone. I was in a field of loadstone once and my compass lied to me. So did my buddies.
