I'm a new digger and I think I'm addicted! The hunting lease I'm on in Central Texas has several very large midden mounds .I asked land owner if I could dig around and he said sure I've been there 3 days in a row and going back today. Can anyone tell me what type of artifacts these are and how old they might be?

Great finds and pics. A midden mound and a burial mound are two different things. Be careful digging so you don't break anything. And check out the animal bones and just about everything you find. You might want to keep a bucket handy to put the things that you are not familiar with in. Oh and celebrex will help with the digging pain. Keep us posted. Those are some really nice artifacts!

You have a great site to hunt, more people here are eating their hearts out than you can imagine. Be very careful of taking pictures on location with you cell phone. Some phones stamp a GPS location in the picture and people in the know can figure out where your site is.
