Mind blowing finds from today's dive

ZDD is back at it. We finally got permission from the Harbour Master to dive a place that has been off limits due to security reasons since 9/11 and boy did it pay off. But we were under close observation by the authorities the entire time we were there. In fact we were ordered to bring up one of the divers when he strayed outside the allotted area. It was well worth the added red tape to get in there though.
Eight of us hit the water doing 2 tanks each, me stupidly only brought 80s instead of some 120s, I would have really liked the extended bottom time.

Enough blabbering, roll the pix;

Group finds,

The Italia Line was the same Shipping Line that owned the Andrea Doria and similar cups were found on her.

My finds,

The Soda was an R White, lemonade bottle from England circa 1920s with inside screw type stopper.

It was a great day, can't wait to do it again.

Any coins, rings etc?

Outstanding finds Dave. At least some authorities are showing some common sense.

Dave, it's nice just to see a post about great finds. Beautiful collection of history. Congrats to you and your team!

Those are outstanding Dave...love seeing that old glass see th light of day!

That is neat. I congratulate you on your permission and tip my hat to your diving expertise.

This is one of the reasons I enjoy this site so much. Great recoveries from a totally different locale and discipline. Amazing stuff!

Wow.
What it must be like touching history underwater.
Lots of significant recoveries pictured..

Imagine how much more remains there, and in most other navigable waters……...

Very nice Dave. I saw the "Italia" emblem and immediately thought Doria. What wreck is it, and how deep?

Amazing finds! Things we field hunters never see in one piece. Big congrats, you guys had one heck of a day!

North American harbours are young, I could only emagine what would be on the bottom of some European harbours. The amount of history there just sitting on the bottom, (maybe under several feet of silt) would be well worth the effort to recover it.

No wreck, just discarded items from the Steamship era.
