Next day or 2 going to get, could you give me honest opinion, it’s not about expert vs newbie, it’s simply for those lesser options, performs same processor etc, 600 great deal for 550.00 new. Expert advice needed

I watched a video, where the user of the 800 nox got a VERY DEEP cut quarter, silver hammered coin....UK, of course...!
But I see the extra khz can certainly help find tiny weird metal objects....!

Higher freqs are more sensitive to tiny gold. Will you ever hunt for gold nuggets? In mult-ifreq the 600 and 800 run identically, it is in single freq that the 20 and 40 come in to play. Also there are times when you may experience high EMI and having 2 extra freqs to choose from means you will have a better chance of finding a freq not affected by the EMI.

Headphone Wireless +transmitter/ receiver you hang on the belt to use your favorite headphone comes with the 800 besides the two extra frequencies, the wireless are extra with 600 only wired comes with the 600 unless you get a special. I bought a 600 today because it came with the wireless headphone at no extra cost.
Edit: the sale started Oct 2020 and ends this Sunday 1-31-2021, so if you want it you better dig deep into soon.

With the military discount and the free headphones deal, I wouldn't even be asking this question. Equinox 600 would be the choice for me unless I had a bunch of money to burn. $550 vs $765? The Minelab 800 doesn't have any killer features that I personally would use that would justify the $215 difference. Then again, I don't do any prospecting and the extra configurability of the 800 isn't worth the extra cash in my opinion.

If I may I see you use a notka makro simplex machine, that’s my current machine also. Would it be fair to compare the simplex to the 600, simplex 12 kilohertz I believe vs the 4-5-10-15 kilohertz minelab , appreciate your opinion

I have both... bought the 800 for me about a year ago & bought a 600 for my son (and as a back-up). I used a loner 600 when i had to send the 800 in for a GB issue (before buying the 600). Both are great machines! I personally prefer the 800 for the ability to adjust/customize the settings ( tones, tone breaks, etc). That, along with the wireless headphones, I think is worth the extrs $$$! Basically....you can customize any search mode to suite how you like it. As far as overall performance in our area for coins & relics, you wont go wrong with either model. Good Luck

Another kinda overlooked difference between the 2 equinox models is the recovery speed settings.....the 800 has 8 RS settings, whereas the 600 has 3. I like the xtra "in between" RS settings on trashy or iron infested sites. All the guys i occasionally hunt with either have the 800 or 600 & everyone finds good stuff! Both are great machines!

I bought the 800 for two reasons. First, seeing all the great finds under marginal conditions found by 800's on this forum. Second, I have more money than I have sense. Gary

I like my 800. It picked up my first 3 Cent silver Trime at 7 inches, and thats a very small thin coin. Would the 600 have picked it up under the same conditions ? I don't know because I don't own one. All I know is that I don't think my Fisher CZ 5 (my go to machine in fields) would have picked that small coin up. Mine, is obviously based on opinion and experience with the detector only. Not specifics and capabilities of the 2 detectors.

Sir, that’s what makes this site, folks like you giving information which is priceless, only thing I don’t like is people that get paid or compensation for pushing a product, way to many can’t trust. Poor man or rich man if the machine does what it’s supposed to then so be it. 600 should get the same depth I would think unless 800 has adjustments to make better. Gold settings nice but not necessary for most and still get a nice machine in 600. Thankyou

I just bought the 600 myself. Despite more settings on the 800, I feel the 600 will more than satisfy what I'm looking for...
