Minelab SE Pro Coil Pinpointing?

I just got a the new pro SE coil and am having difficulty in determining whether the pinpointing should be at the top of the coil or at the center, any tips would be appriciated, thanks!

The pinpoint is down the length of the center of the coil. There are two methods for pinpointing with a DD coil. The first is to pinpoint the target twice at 90 degrees...the intersection of the loudest tone is where the target is. The second is to get the loudest tone and move the coil backwards (or forwards) until the tone drops off...at that point the target will be at the front of the coil (or the back if you moved the coil forwards).
