My Whites 6000 Pro XL turns out to be non repairable. Centreville has my coil and battery pack. There's naturally a fee in returning them. Just curious if there would be any interest in any one still has a need for such things or just tell them to keep them? The battery pack is brand new.

That would probably depend on the cost.

The rechargable pack can be rebuilt, i have done that myself and i am butter fingers. If you don't have a Whites Detector i would let them go. Someone else might buy them from Centerville.

Centreville will charge $30 bucks to send them back. The battery pack is brand new which I just bought not knowing the detector was shot. It cost me $50+ bucks. The 950 coil is original to my detector which goes way back but in great shape. If I was to get $75 for the battery pack, the battery charger and the 950 coil it would be worth it to pay and have them sent back. Otherwise I'm just going to tell Paul to sell them and make a few bucks for himself. He's a nice guy and has been very helpful.

What was wrong with the Pro XL?

you will sell them on ebay easy enough

I left the old battery pack in there & it corroded and got onto the circuit boards. Could not be fixed. All my fault and will miss the machine as it was a very good and versitle one.

Probably fixable. For stuff like this Centerville mostly does board swaps and there are no more boards for that detector. The only real show-stopper that would make the Pro XL unfixable is the rotary mode switch. When that goes bad, it's done for.

Thanks Carl and parts for these good machines are scarce & I do not know of any other service center. I'l just accept it as gone. Use other machines I jave amd possibly get a new one as well. Where in NC are you located.

Used to be in Greensboro/Oak Ridge, that was 20 yrs ago. Now I'm in NE Washington. Was Engineering Manager at White's for 6 yrs.
