Here's a few pics of my home-built jig. It runs on 12V.


The screen box, and infeed hopper are easily removed to facilitate cleaning. The screen box is about 4" x 14", and the hutch has a hopper bottom that funnels the cons down to a 3/4" exit pipe that can be equipped with a hose. Usually I just remove the cap to empty the hutch. The jig uses a sawtooth waveform with a very fast pressure stroke, and long, smooth suction period. It will handle about 300lbs/hour of 1/2" minus material. The diaphragm chamber is a section of 8" PVC pipe. I made the flanges by flattening pipe in the wife's oven, and then turning them on a rotary table on the mill.
I mainly use it prospecting for gems.
