Went to a park this morning and found a nice mixture!

Yes. The slide was caked in dirt. I used a tooth bush and dish detergent with water. It leaned up really good!

That Florin wasn't there very long, those cupronickel coins 'orange up' really bad in the ground. I guess a surface find?

It was 3-4 inches deep, and orange.
I cleaned and polished it.

When I found it, I assumed it was silver due to the date. I got home and read that they weren't silver due to England's war debt.

I've never had one before. A fun thing about this hobby is imagining, "How did you get from England to this Indiana park?"

I've been to the States a few times, mostly during my Service. Never dropped a coin tho'. I'm too tight . Where your coin came from , it's strange how some coins will rot, and yet 4 inches away a coin will survive like new. I found a Charles 1st Rose farthing today and it was in superb condition, other Rose farthings from the same field are scrap
