I found my first musket lock plate today!
The strange shaped brass nipple cone seat seat leads me to believe its a model 1836 conversion pistol.

Anyone have any advice for preservation? should I wax dip or try electrolysis first? No luck on the return trip. Thinking about mobilizing the local club to the location.
