I've been slacking in the metal detecting department as of late (haven't been out in a week or so). I did get a chance to gander the Monocacy National Battle field, with my mom and kids and with out the MD of course. What a beatiful place, just think of all the relics in these fields and surroundeing areas. Enjoy the pics!

Nice pix. I visited the battlefield a few years ago and really enjoyed it. My great-great grandfather fought there as a private in the 138th Pennsylvania Volunteer Infantry.

thanks for the pics in what state is the battlefield thanks

Wow thats Awsome Gary, The battle field is in Maryland d..........

Years ago I had the chance to detect along the retreat lines of the battlefield. It was on private property!! I dug a bunch of carbine bullets and 3 ringers but the best thing was a B&O Railroad lock that had been hit with something until it was broken open!! This site had been hit hard for a few years so I was pretty surprise to have gotten that!!
