These are some of my better heads

I found these sticking out of the ground along with a beautiful doorknob set that matches the more elaborate ones that are second from the outside. I made a frame for them and hung them in it. More of a shadow box style. As you can tell, I polished them up. They had an extremely thick layer of patina on them.

That is a killer big point and the door knob plates are real cool:thumbsup:

Hard to compare to you monsterrack. I will say that after this summer, I might sing a different tune though.
I will be eager to compare our 2014 finds.
Also, I've been hunting off and on since I was a little boy, but I dove in deep four years ago, so cut me a little slack. Lol

You can't go wrong with putting time in the field. I know some guys that have only been maybe ten times and what they found was unreal and now they don't hunt any more go figure:BangHead:I try to hunt the places that are hard to get at, places that most people don't have the ump to go. Good luck on your up coming hunts and I hope you find a banner find.

Believe it or not, the big point was dug out by my friend that I invited out to my site one day after a big flood.
He struck the dirt and it went right between his prongs.
He finger dug it out the rest of the way and handed it to me. I dipped it in the water to clean it and when I pulled it out of the water, I could of fainted.
My friend ran out to the middle of the stream, fell to his knees in amazement and found a full groove axe head right between his legs.
Then he came and sat down on a log next to me right below the dig where the big blade was dug out and was taking big handfuls of dirt and rock out of the creek. After 7-8 handfuls, he pulls out the smallest celt I've ever seen or held.
It was one of the most amazing things I've ever witnessed in my life. By far the wildest relic experience I've witnessed.

It all happened in about 25 min. I'm not sure I'd of believed the story if I hadn't been apart of it.

That same friend set a gun case on my doorstep on December 10th 2012, which is my birthday. When I opened it, it was filled with every relic he ever found. The guy fell off the deep end and I haven't ever even got to talk to him about it.

In the case was a note saying" I was guna donate these, but I thought I'd leave it up to you"

True story

It's sort of like deer hunting, study and read all you want but it boils down to the right spot at the right time.

These are the rest of the relics he gave me. Not pictured are 2 axe heads, 2 Celts.

I received a picture messege 2 days ago of a newspaper article showing that Dickson mounds is have a free identification day on Sunday. I'm sure it was him that sent it

Yep and you have to spend the time and he has to be there. Hunt all you want but if the goods are not there you are wasting your time. Same with sites. Lol deer hunting is my analogy on life.

Larson1951, painterx and tnmountain, it's time to show your best.

Don't be shy now.

The three of you chimed in now pay the piper
