Moon's heart skips a beat with sidewalk tear up!

Hey gang.....I had a doctors appt. this morning and took my usual route through town and looked over to my right and noticed orange cones on the side of the street. I then noticed that the whole darn sidewalk was torn up!! That's a very good thing. It happens to be on the oldest street in Aiken. Here's the picture down below.

Well, I waited until this afternoon when the workers went home and detected it for an hour or so. I was disappointed that I didn't get any silver this time, but I'm going back tomorrow. I did however get my oldest wheat 1910, and another wheat 1938 and 7 cents in clad. I was tickled about the 1910 because I didn't have one in my coin book yet. There's gotta be some silver there!!! I'm gonna find it too! Sorry, no pics of coins.

Weak iffy signals can be deep coins or ones on edge. It is possible to even get a ring that fell between the old board cracks. Close to the streets folks would throw lots of junk items in the old days. There tends to be lots of brass stuff in these areas.

Pete....I did read your sidewalk finds post....it was great! I've definitely done the angle thing, the tree trunk, and all the holes (baby sink holes I think). The 1910 wheat that I retrieved was on the side of an embankment.

Moon, side walk tear ups are great....I hit one last year and found 4 pieces of silver. It was really fun.

Make friends with the constuction crew. You can get all kinds of info from them....such as where they will be digging next.

I just found out about a project where the whole downtown will be replacing the sidewalks. Only problem is that it is about a 5 1/2 hour drive. Looks like an overnighter.
