Weather has been great here, so I got out yesterday to a few of my lots that obtained through Craigslist. These lots at one time had small homes on them that housed railroad workers here in Dallas and have recently been torn down...The houses dated from the late 1800's-1930's. The temp was in the high 70's so I went out for a couple of hours...found two axe heads (that makes 3 total from these lots), the regular assortment of square nails, and screws...a very strange blue speckled rock (looks as if it had been tumbled) some broken bottle pieces, and small brass hinge, a door hinge bolt, and a small piece of aluminum that looks like it was from a percolator coffee pot. There is a small decorative piece, that I have no idea what it was from, but hope to find the other half today...also found this small piece with a wheel on it...it had the patent number on the back and when I looked it up, it was listed as an antirattling device for car windows...patented in 1936.....I am going back today they are scraping the ground from a house built in 1921 that was torn down a couple of days ago, and also have permission to hit a lot with a house built in 1915...will post what I find late...
Thanks for stopping by and taking a look....
