This is weird. A whole year without finding anything of note and then in three consecutive trips I'm nailing good targets! Go figure.

Best of the day was another religious pendant, again about the size of a half dime and made of copper. This one is in perfect condition. The type is so small I can't quite make out all the print.

And a not so great but interesting find. First, a neat 12ga shotgun shell. Never found one with U S on it. And what are those strange symbols?

Hope you don't mind - I cropped your pics for you hoping that would help with the lettering on this medallion. Unsure of the resolution of the camera but they're a little fuzzy. Played with the contrast a bit - helped a little. Maybe someone can read 'em...

Thanks for the dates, J-G!

DD-777, don't mind at all your cropping my pics.

I can tell that the reverse side says PENINA A LYON, but there is a letter that precedes this I can't quite make out. May be an "L".

Here's a large closeup scan of the obverse. I can't quite make out what it reads except for the last three words, which says, "SA SAIN TETEE" with the two "S"s being backwards (or are those Z's?). Maybe you can make something of it.

In the first series of letters (your last pic), the second letter actually looks like the symbol for "OMEGA". Of all the things I can do to a photo, I cant write on them! Need a different program. If your familiar with the Greek alphabet than you know what I'm talking about. Could it possibly be a Greek Orthodox medallion? :dontknow:

I think I may agree on the Alpha and Omega (a scriptural reference to Jesus in Revelation as the "first and the last"). But there also appears to be a Rho after the Alpha and Omega. Not sure what that could signify.

I doubt highly that this is a Greek Orthodox pendant since the school was Roman Catholic. In any event it is a beautifully designed piece of jewelry, as small as it is.
