More ID help

I inherited about 100 artifacts,all I know is the person who had them lived in Tennessee .Here are a couple more, the first one I thought might be a preform but it is worked too much for that,I think, it is basically flat on bottom but all is worked,top is dome shaped and front and back have grooves for hafting. The second one I think maybe a war hammer,feels very good in your hand but also looks like it could be hafted about halfway from both ends....Carl

They first piece is very similar to one I found. It is shaped the same way. Flat on the bottom and worked on top. Raised back like a hump. I think it may be called a turtle back scraper, I think I believe it was used for working hide.

hey old digger,thanks for replying,I don't think either one is a tool,the first one has been worked all over,more so than most pre forms ,if that's what it is we'll never know what it might have been.The second one and mentioned War Hammer is because I found three pics online almost exactly like mine and they all called them a WH,The unfortunate thing about using pics only,you can't holt it a look for small things....once again thanks. Been pricing them up for over 50 years but just recently started to ID them,trying to learn...Carl

At first I thought the first one might be a preform, but the closer I looked, the more I agree with old digger. I believe they are both rocks, not artifacts.

1st one looks to be a possible core to me. The 2nd one looks like a natural flint nodule. I see no cortex removed from it at all.

Well thank you and I believe that these pieces JMHO are quarried pieces maybe utilized I hope this may help you

Most of those piece in the last photo's are knives. The first picture piece does look to have flaking removed from the one side evident with the flaking scars. I believe this to be a possible Tanning scraper. Hard to tell with those pics so if you could repost better shots of the flaking on it that would help. The second pic is just a river cobble........JMO
