I was able to take my almost 15 year old grandson up to Grand Lake St. Marys to finish out his spring break. The fishing was tough for both of us. It was his first time there and, well, Mr. WD is the master fisherman, not me. We left last Wednesday and the skies were gray. When we got there, there was massive fog.

I got a lot of avian photos. These were all taken from right in front of the hotel or the hotel balcony. I can't help but think some of them could be turned into a funny meme. :laughing7:

Then I also took some photos of where we were fishing behind the hotel in the creek.

sml9.webp apparently they don't want carp in the waters.

smlfind.webp My finds w/o a detector. MR WD gladly took the hitch clip.

smltrn.webp I love ALL trains!

And on the way home, we took a little detour to visit someone's grave. My grandson didn't even know who she was.

Four days with an active teenager suffering from fishingitis and then Easter has really run me ragged!
I hope everyone had a Blessed Easter!
Thanks for looking!

What a wonderful post! Sounds like you also had a blessed Easter making memories to last a lifetime. For both of you!!

Nice pics and a great trip. You can stand down now. Time for a vacation from your vacation.

LOL! I asked him if this scored me some major Grandma brownie points? He said, "Oh Yeah."

I saw an ace of hearts playing card once in an antique shop in Pagosa Springs Colo with a bullet hole shot through the heart and was signed by Annie Oakley. If I recall it had a $1200. price on it.

I would’ve been tempted to buy that. But now after watching so much pawn stars, I would need experts opinions on authenticity. LOL.

In Greenville Ohio they have a museum, the Darst museum, that has a lot of her stuff. Few months ago there was a segment on Mysteries at the Museum about it.

Exactly. That shop is no longer in business. There were other things such as what they said was old deerskin beaded Native American things and Stone artifacts that look just too perfect to be true. I had a little doubt about the credibility of the couple that operated that store. I would ask them where they came by such things. They always had a story like it came from an old trading-post or something of that nature and the only provenance they had to offer was their stories and words.

Thanks for the pics. Looked like a great trip. I want to go next time.

Lol! It’s not a numero uno destination. They make the news every year for the algae bloom and they have to ban swimming because it makes people sick.
