This last Dec. on a park hunt by myself I came up with a Morgan 1881 'o' , this was my 5th silver dollar.
Went out detecting with my wife a few days ago and I got a '47 rosie and she hadn't got anything yet, til we moved to another area and she nailed me good! It was a 1916 's' !!
Sat. got out by myself (she didn't want to go) so I hit the ground running, hopeing to out do her '16 and boy did I!! First thing I found just eyeballing was a 4" broken box link chain 14k. Then I got into a real muddy area and thought I hit on a sprinkler head, but decided to dig it anyway....dug down about 5or6" in the mud and and I could see a silver edge, pulled it out AND WOW!!
It was a PEACE DOLLAR...
I know everybody reads the red book and looks at the pictures and says I'd like to find.....this and that!
I couldn't remember which year was the best, 24 kept sticking in my mind, didn't find out til I got home that the dollar that I found was the best.
I looked for the mint mark hopeing it was an s, it had no mint mark, I thought bummer, then I looked in the red book.
The 1928 Peace Dollar has the lowest mintage: 360,649 .......That's the dollar I have!!
2 months and 2 silver dollars!! I can't believe it.
I have a total of 6 silver dollars now. 3 Morgan and 3 Peace.

1928 Peace Dollar? Awesome!! :headbang: :headbang:

1st, congrats on TWO dollars!

I think you reversed the 1881 Morgan, though. Shouldn't Lady Liberty be facing left, and shouldn't it read E PLURIBUS UNUM, and the date looks backwards, too?

That's right, the image of the Obverse is reversed. Great finds!

Great finds for sure!

WOW!!!! Awesome finds!!!!

Now those are some great finds!!! Congrats :icon_thumright:

You are the man!! :icon_thumleft: I have never found a coin bigger than a quarter. I must be in the poor area.
I think my detector is running hot enough to blow my eardrums if i found a morgan. :laughing7:

Wow...those came out of the ground?? DAMN!..Killer stuff
