That's a wicked looking point or spear tip, whatever it is, I don't know what "chert" is but have seen something similar. the shape of that point looks almost like it was modeled after the space shuttle or SR71 blackbird and probably flew almost as fast! I bet that would HURT!! What part of the country are you in and what native tribes would be associated with the area? I'm just curious like the others, thanks for sharing your finds and the pics of your hunting grounds! Looks like that spot has been someone's hunting grounds for a very long time! Your finds combined with the pictures of your location really do take us along for the trip.

Thanks so much for the information and praise? I guess... It was a blessing I was able to spot the small portion of the white/red rear. Nope. Actually I always have hunted in,around KS. River and also few tributaries. But I live and raised in Shawnee, ks. (KC area). Thanks all. This thing is so amazingly rifled it seems.

Wild looking material. Very nice. Is it a coastal or south Ga or Ala find? It is purdy. Thanks for taking us along.

So I was just interested why you say it's coastal. Your implying the owner/maker century's ago settled with Shawnee Indians??

That thing is way way older than the Shawnee tribe....any tribe.
It looks to be early woodland period.

Love the scenery where you hunt and excellent find. I would hate to be on the receiving end of that.
