OK, someone requested that we post our more mundane CRH as well as the big scores. So here is my update. I don't have a regular box ordering schedule set up yet, and haven't had much time to road trip, so... since the random $100 BWR (1970-D NIFC 40%er, ugly clad bicentennial proof) which I've already posted (3/3)...
Box #2 from the same bank as Box #1 yielded 6 40%ers, not bad.
Total from various banks (besides today's halves below): $5 loose halves, $20 quarters, $30 dimes, $10 nickels, $7 pennies: nothing to speak of
Today I had the CRH urge but a lot to do, so I stopped at just two banks that I'd been to two weeks ago. Each had $3 halves. At the one small bank, the teller said "We got some halves--I've been waiting for you to come in!" I'm pleased, since I've only been going there since late December and am too shy to be very personable, but the teller seems to like me. Anyway, got one 1967 there. The other bank's $3 was all clad.
Also, I have reached into exactly two coin return slots this month, and got a quarter out of each one, haha (not silver). Watched my mom do this growing up but I rarely do it. Apparently I am just so good, I know when to do it and when not to bother.
Irritations: 1. My own bank (big chain) apparently now is required to keep records of any exchanges. I was buying only $20 dimes, $10 nickels, $2 pennies, but the teller logged it all into the computer and apologized for the new requirement. Is this common?
2. Boyfriend's bank started charging a 5% fee for MEMBERS to use the coin counter (amounts over $25). For nonmembers it's now 10%, even higher than Coinstar.
