Musical Reeds?

I'm pretty sure that these are a reed of some sort because they are marked A, A#, B. Just can't figure what instrument. Accordian?? Seem to big for a harmonica. These were all found at different sites. Were accordians or whatever instument they're from that popular back then?

They are single reed boards, it looks like the reeds themselves are missing...

Yo are correct.  Probebly from an accordian, or, more likely a harmonium.

Just seems funny that these were found at different place. You wouldn't think folks would just toss an accordian out. Or were the reeds and boards replacable, like when re-tuning?

Replaced or just scattered after throwing the thing away.

Remember - the musical instruments of the time were like our gameboys of today... everybody had one, everyone played something, it's what brought people together.

Every kid had a slingshot and harmonica I rekon...
