Hi all... I found this little metal ball while digging in my garden in (mid) Michigan. Now that I have some time on my hands I was poking around in an attempt to ID it... Not sure if it's anything at all, but the closest I could find is a musket ball? What do you think? Looks like there is a sort of ridge around it, but one side appears to have some kind of a "nub" on it... Thanks!

Way too big for a "musket" ball and not round enough. What's it made from? Looks rusty and no guns used iron balls. The out of round would also preclude it being a cannister shot.

Thank you. That's what I was thinking after looking around more... I'm not certain how to tell what it's made of, but it is a rust color with some whiteish patina, and it almost looks "flaky" but isn't (tried to get a better pic of what I mean by that). Didn't stick to a magnet... IMG_20200416_184442.jpg
