Hello Mr. Obvious.....first time caller, long time listener.
This is an opening to a comedy skit that used to play on the radio here. The caller was dumber than a door knob, but Mr.Obvious always tried to determine the problem of the caller without being insulting, and the caller always had some completely obvious issue that any normal person may immediately know how to understand.
Like cooking a thanksgiving turkey....after all the questions were asked by Mr. Obvious, it finally bore down to the caller trying to cook a live turkey, which wasn't so obvious through the comedy sketch.
My point being....Mr Obvious didn't mock the caller...simply tried to understand his problem and help him through it, even when it became so obvious the turkey was still alive.
There is a disturbing trend here of people lashing other people when they have issues.
Some folk are just too ready to poke their finger into someone's side, just to make their point clear.
We're chasing people away with canes, whipping them for their opinions.
We all have different points of view. Can we please be respectable of that and have a little thought in our responses instead of instigating a feeling of ill-will by lashing out with our own angry responses.
Some here are just as guilty as the lawmakers with knee-jerk responses to someone's feelings or opinions.
If you don't agree with someone, please use nonoffensive replies without accusations and proddings. We don't need parenting here, we don't need to be told to grow up or get a life, and we certainly don't need the agressive postings.
If you don't agree...simply state.."I don't agree because I feel...." Leave the..."You're wrong because..." out.
Once we write our words, consequences are inevitable.
If I post I am offended by something, I sure don't need anyone castigating me for why I shouldn't be or worse, having my intelligence insulted by you demeaning me and my ideals that took a life-time to nurture and develope.
I personally can take some lashings from people...I have tough skin.....
But not everyone here is up for malicious sarcasm.
