MXT Pro Volume Question

I read in a couple posts that you need to use headphones running the MXT Pro.

Can an MXT Pro user tell me why? Is the volume from the detector too low?

You need to use headphones with any detector if you want to hunt for the deep stuff. The faintest whisper may be your best find ever and you will never know it happened without headphones on. If your just digging clad you will be fine without them.
