My 1800's spot gives it up again

I know my titles sound like a broken record but this site never ceases to amaze me image.webpimage.webpimage.webpimage.webpimage.webpimage.webpimage.webp. Took a ride over to my favorite spot as it always gives up something nice. Well today she opened up the chest just wide enough for me to reach in and pull out this ring. Strange one for sure. Looks like a class ring from 1947. Either 10 or 16k. The front says CARTIER and what looks like a comb and scissors??? I don't know. Thanks for looking, Mike

Hair stylist... IMO

The two objects are a comb and an antique hair curler.

That's a sweet looking 47!! Congrads Mr Mike!

that's one really cool ring, don't ya love when you find something that has you stumped as to what it is?

good job!

Thanks! This one def has me stumped

Thanks, I am. It's the 5th gold ring from this site, various signets and the 1800's Tiffany & Co 18k ring.

Five gold rings from a LAND site. When you think of it that way, it really does become amazing. Like what did the people do there back then, take off everything and run around nekkid on the grass? Did they have a big brawl where everybody was duking it out and pulling each others hair out, and tearing each others clothing off? I can't speculate enough how such a site has gotten so much loot in the ground.

Lol! I know right. The way I see it is the place dates back to the late 1700's from my research. The house on it now was built in the mid 1800's. Has two outer houses and the orig barn. My earliest coin is a 1773 1/2 Reale. I just figure many people have come to this site in the past for picnic outings. Many fruit trees and grape vines which have since grown wild.
Oh and by the way, George Washington had one of his first skirmishes here against British loyalists. That's why I dedicate so much time to this place. I want to find concrete proof this was the site.

I see the "comb" but not scissors. No thumb or finger loops? Could it be something different? Maybe a harmonica and tuning fork? Just guessin'

ya beat me to it greastart

I would say it represents a piano tuner.tuning fork and keyboard.I would count the,"keys"if 88 there is your answer

Sweet baby Geebus! Don't be talkin' 88's around here or you'll get Ahab8 all flustered! :tongue3:

Sweet gold find.

And I do remember that Tiffany ring. That was an amazing find too.
You need to keep your spot the most super secret spot ever.

Congrats on yet another great score.

Posted another one I found the following day, that makes 6 from this site. No secrets here, if you're ever on LI give me a shout. I'd be more than willing to take you there, cheers Mike

I'll certainly keep that in mind and I do appreciate the offer.

I have a spot I've pulled 3 gold and 4 silver rings from myself. It's not a very old site (well, parts of it are) but it's still in use and just keeps getting "replenished". I just need to leave it alone and come back from time to time.
I found my biggest gold ring ever there just recently. It's like rings "grow" there. It's been a really hot site for me.

If I could find two or three more spots like that I'd be set. Then again, as great as it is to keep pulling treasure, if it was too easy it wouldn't be nearly as fun. Plus, everyone would be doing it.

In reality, when I calculate the hundreds of hours I've spent hunting that spot and NOT finding gold or silver, it's not that surprising that I've pulled all of those rings. In the end it is a numbers game. I bet I haven't earned 20 cents an hour in reality.

Nice old gold class ring! Congrats!

Oh, and by the color of that gold, I think it is higher than 10K. Should have it checked. Good luck.

Agree, I'm thinking 14k, maybe even 18k. You should have it checked.

10k, there's a gouge on the 0 making it look like a 6. Thanks all, Mike
