My 7yr old daughter's finds today

Today a friend of mine and her two kids came detecting with my daughter and I. (These three kids are super friends). Actually, the kids detected and we helped. Seeing as the kids ALWAYS want to try the detectors, we thought make a point of letting them detect as long as they want. I snuck out to the park and scattered about 30 coins for them to find (it's more fun when you find something haha).

They thought it was super fun to find the coins, but then they were finding other stuff too, like bottle caps and pulltabs!

I couldn't believe it when my girl found the dog head item, it's metal and must be part of a toy sword or knife or something. I didn't plant that, it's a legit find haha! She was excited.

Anyway, she insisted that I "post my finds on treasurenet dad!!!". Thanks for looking, and she's excited to hear what you all think. does look like a cane handle. I like it

Tell your daughter she did great....I've been detecting since 1993 and she did pretty much as good as I do on an average hunt....

Regards + HH

awesome finds ,
stark family willbe looking for wolf

Looks like you've got competition now, she did good!! I like that dog head.

Excellent J, what a good papa! I absolutely enjoy seeing parent/child combo hunts. I have had a few of my own. It's better than anything in the world. But when you actually find something...well that's other-worldly.

Right on brother. Keep up the good work as a dad and detectorist. Cheers

Steve

Good for you getting the kids involved and congrats to them on the finds

That looks better than some of my hunts!! Love the dog/wolf head........Time now to find the right tree limb to mount it.............

Thanks for the replies everybody, she's getting a kick outta this! She also told me she wants her own detector now.

Awsome finds. My three love to go. They take turns w the pin pointer. Lol

A fine day of detecting .
Congrats!

Very good job metal detecting. Looks like she's got the hang of it!

Way to go. My son actually found "my" first SLQ. I just helped him get it out of the hole. He too loses interest if he's not digging quarters every few steps so sadly he hasnt hunted the old sites with me this year

Solid finds. I think jeff Gordan is right. That doggie was sitting on top on a cane many, many years ago. All great finds. Congratulations.:cat:

Cool find, I think your knife handle makes a lot of sense, as it seems to me a bit small for a cane topper. That of course just my opinion.
Congrats on all the non-planted finds, any of which may have been a gold or something interesting too.

Wow she done very well congrats to your daughter.....:headbang:

That's a really cool find - wonder if its a Fox Head from a Riding Crop??

Similar ... but not limited to...

Nice find to your daughter. It looks like a cane topper to me.

Your daughter did really great. She'll be giving all of her classmates metal detector training before long.
I think the custom is,, "If you find any animal figures,, you win a metal detector "
I think I read that somewhere.
Congrats to everyone.
