Eight in one day!

I few days ago I found a little dump area where someone threw a bunch of Civil War cannonballs into the river. Just posting it up now because it took me some time to get them drilled and rendered inert. I always like to have that done before I post them They all came from the same area, but notice how the one in the center has a thick cocoon of rust and rocks, but some are almost perfectly clean. Just about killed this ol' boy hauling them back to the truck. I had to stop digging them because I knew I'd be lucky if I could carry all of these out.

I don't think the round ones with the fuzes were fired as they are not punched for the range.



Took yesterday off from digging and did a little scouting. Saw plenty!

Thanks! There are 5-12 pounders, 2-six pounders and a Parrott.

looks like a 10 lb Parrott shell? Used to have a 10 lb parrott shell from the Wilderness battle area of VA, but sold the sucker to pay some bills.
