Eight in one day!

I few days ago I found a little dump area where someone threw a bunch of Civil War cannonballs into the river. Just posting it up now because it took me some time to get them drilled and rendered inert. I always like to have that done before I post them ;) They all came from the same area, but notice how the one in the center has a thick cocoon of rust and rocks, but some are almost perfectly clean. Just about killed this ol' boy hauling them back to the truck. I had to stop digging them because I knew I'd be lucky if I could carry all of these out.

I don't think the round ones with the fuzes were fired as they are not punched for the range.

Took yesterday off from digging and did a little scouting. Saw plenty!

I Really enjoy viewing all your great discoveries and posts. The reason being I still believe that there are places still undiscovered out there. One day I hope to find one of these places. Great digs friend.

That's awesome there. Going to Natchez next weekend with friends to hunt a camp. Wish me luck. HH

Thanks guys and gals for the kind comments. I do wish you all the luck you can muster in Natchez.

Isn't it great looking forward to such an adventure? I have a spot I want to check out sooooo bad, but the river is too swift still this year because of all the rain. If it's half of what I'm dreaming, IT WILL BE EPIC!!!! I hope I don't have to wait until next summer and slower water :( Wish me luck on at least the river going down part. Please....

Beau - you are a true renaissance man. Great saves!!!

Wow and Double-Wow! I would have my head in the clouds too after finding that artillery... BTW nice photos and videos.

I found something that looks similar to what you found. Should I be concerned about the item sitting on my kitchen counter?

Depends on what it is. It could be a mill ball or shot put, in which case the only danger is if you drop it on your foot. With your screen name, I'm thinking mill ball from mining/crushing operations.

Oh, Mill Balls. Very interesting. I'll post a picture of it tonight. Great, Milling balls don't explode. My wife will be happy to here that.

Congrats on some killer artillery Beau!

Great finds. You sure do know how to find them. I like flying in choppers but you took it to a whole new level.

Awesome finds.:icon_thumleft:

Sweet!!! Are they twelve pounders?

wow! 8 in a day is just mind blowing, like everything else you've found. lol. How did you find that spot?

I love the splody things, would love to be able to say I've found half of what you've found!

Awesome finds! I love your posts and YouTube videos. Any chance you made a video of finding all that artillery?

Man ! I just love looking at your posts and video's, the things you find just amaze me.
I think that it's the amount of your finds.....or maybe it's the amount of my finds.......
you STILL DA MAN!!! congrats on an amazing group of finds..... HH

Sweet cannonballs! I love that shell. keep up the good work beau!

Forgive me while I ramble............ you do not do anything in small quantities. The epic water finds of all the large silver coins, spanish included, counter stamped too. More than one rifle in a day, from the water. Now a pile of cannon balls!! HOLY COW!

Now, where is the jumpseat for the cahones you must have to be able to fly a powered parachute with the propulsion unit strapped to your back.

Just thought I would ask.

Can't wait to see what is next!

Untile your next awesome adventure.......

HI BOB!

Awesome! I've only found one cannon ball before, is a five pound solid shot. Found it off the Mississippi River. Congrats!!
