What a awsum day detecting.

Hunted some old Acadian land.....the 1676 coin was only 1 inch deep !!!!! CAN ANYONE ID IT FOR ME.?

The silver ring was at 4 inches.....but don,t think its all that old..dunno.

The copper coin I can,t identify..perhaps someone can ???.....that was a few feet from a foundation.

The musket balls were close to the surface also.

I found out why things were so close to the surface....at the end of the day I was talking with the owner..thay had the top 10-12 inches of soil stripped away from the fields close to the house when they built it !!!!

My 1st 1600s coin and my 1st silver coin in 2 months.

Wow........ you just showed out today. Congrats on what would be a "our best finds of the decade" for most of us. U DA MAN:occasion14:

Wow what a hunt. That copper kinda looks like a 1722 king
George.

Great digs. The 1676 coin is French and I believe it is this ,THE SUN KING" Quatre sols dits "des traitants" . But I am no expert. Congrats

Sweet jesus, what a beautiful coin!

Fantastic hunt, Aqua! I love it all man. I vote banner on that coin.

Awsome hunt! Those musket balls are soooo white... the ones I find
Are mixed with whites greys and maybe some rust. The soil must be vastly different. ..

That silver appears to be a "LOUIS XIV, QUADRUPLE SOL LA CROIX FLEURDELISE". At least from what I could see online, that appears to be it.

Silver is always sweet.Congrats.

haha just like when Rick posted his last old French as soon as I seen the date I knew what it would be! :)

King George I Halfpenny (1719-1724) and a French 4 Sols. Great condition too!

NO.. there is a few slight differences there... dot before and after the d .. and the symbol at the top between the x and the s is different.

and ty GIOTHEGREEK ...I almost pasted it up !!!!!!!!! it rang in at PULLTAB.... depth 0....and it was near where some vehicles had parked for a wedding party....thought it was a pulltab for sure..stopped myself and stepped back..said what the hell---and dug it....

Goes to show you never know when or where your good finds will be. !!!!!!!!!!!

It's very common, only about a $20-$30 coin. If you want big value the date you have to see is 1670!

But as a detecting find it's a very good one.

Sweet finds! Sweet ring!
You should ask them where they took the dirt they scraped off. I bet there's good stuff in there.

Beautiful finds and you may never have found them if the top layer of soil wasn't stripped off. I can only imagine what was in that soil that was hauled away!

Yes I know !!!!!

The soil was screened for top soil..so I,m assuming most coins woulda ended up in the tailings pile as the screens are usually 1/4 inch-1/2 inch. !!!!

12 loads of the top soil was used for their lawn and the rest was hauled away and sold as was the deal with the contractor.

GOOD NEWS...BAD NEWS.

GOOD NEWS... they said I can search their lawn !!!!! sweet

BAD NEWS..... they don,t know where the tailings were dumped or pushed to .

GOOD NEWS..... I know the guy who done the screening so I,ll be calling him !!!!

Yeah man you're in heart of that great old acadian site for sure!

Great silver coin!
I said it before and I'll say it again, never pass up a signal; you don't know what it is until you got it in your hand When relic hunting, every signal comes out

ty PATRIOT..

But what I mean is---what is the value of the coin back in 1676...what does 4 sols convert to in $ or cents

Awesome post thanks for sharing.
