What a awsum day detecting.

Hunted some old Acadian land.....the 1676 coin was only 1 inch deep !!!!! CAN ANYONE ID IT FOR ME.?

The silver ring was at 4 inches.....but don,t think its all that old..dunno.

The copper coin I can,t identify..perhaps someone can ???.....that was a few feet from a foundation.

The musket balls were close to the surface also.

I found out why things were so close to the surface....at the end of the day I was talking with the owner..thay had the top 10-12 inches of soil stripped away from the fields close to the house when they built it !!!!

My 1st 1600s coin and my 1st silver coin in 2 months.

Great looking silver for sure, better shape than most that are dug on the other side of the pond even. It'll be interesting to know what happened to the tailings from the soil, as it's a ??? that I've been thinking of for a while now also. Screenings might be a wealth of finds if it's not too mixed with large amounts of other debris.

I have the same, it's my second oldest silver. Funny thing is I almost passed it by as well...real scratchy signal as well...

Quite the coincidence !!!

Musta been a few around our area back in the day.--very nice shape

Awsome hunt! Those musket balls are soooo white... the ones I find
Are mixed with whites greys and maybe some rust. The soil must be vastly different. ..

have found 8 so far and all have been covered in this white stuff..it,s like a powdery substance about 2 millimeters thick...scrap it off and the raw lead will shine back at ya.
