Thanks Tommy. The artillery "dump" site is incredible. It's only 10x20 yards. So far, I have dug 450 canister balls & 13 grapeshot balls. My article in on that site is scheduled for March W & E Treasures Magazine. Good luck hunting Michigan in 2019!

You've had one hell of a year my friend! Congrats on all the fantastic finds, especially the iron that I'm drooling over! Spectacular! Best Wishes to you in 2019 and let's plan a visit for you and Doug to come down and dig for a couple days! Hope all is going well for you my friend! Went to clean out the civil war site I'd found early this spring and dug two more bullets and some lead, but also found a beaten up, destroyed knapsack hook. Looks like that's about it for that spot except as a backup.

Indications from recent finds pointed toward the fact that you were on the boundary of a CS camp. If not this time, you will find one down there. HH, Q.
