I got a good hunt in this past week, but not in the context that you would probably think.....
With the tornadoes that ripped through central Arkansas last Sunday, I was asked to hunt a church member's yard in order to find lost jewelry. I managed to find a number of pieces. What I remember finding mostly was a lot of change and some silver items. I also found some military items for the father/husband that he received during his 30+ years in the military such as unit crests and unit coins. I did find a large ring that was about 3 inches deep that no one could identify. I speculate that it was lost in a previous storm that had gone through years before.
I also was able to find a bunch of change (most change that I find in half a years worth of hunts) for the neighbor and as we were walking, I found an earring laying on the ground that no one was able to identify. I told the homeowner's that I would come back up after the clean up efforts and try to find anything that may have been missed.
The reward for me was being able to "give back" for all the times I was able to pursue this hobby and neglect my more important responsibilities for others. I plan to put some business cards out in order to help others once the area slows down. It is amazing the amount of devastation that has happened to the small communities in the path of the storms. I have seen a lot including hurricane and tornado damage, but some of what I have seen in this storm is beyond describing.
Please pray and/or at least stop and think about what these folks are going through. I was blessed that it missed me by a matter of a few miles. Others weren't as fortunate.
Here is the only picture that I felt comfortable in sharing/taking. There used to be houses from the place I took this picture to the road:

Oh, and I am not sharing this for a pat on the back, just for everyone to be thinking about the people struggling right now and to share some ideas on how we can bring positive attention to what we do.
