My coin of a life time. 1788 Massachusetts copper

I found a bucket list coin that I did not even know was on my bucket list. Went out with Secondstar and Cheffer to our colonial spot, got a decent signal on the ATpro. When I dug it out of the ground I thought it was a large cent at first had to have Cheffer come over and look to see what it was. When he cleaned it off he looked at me and said do you have any idea what you just found of course I said no. I knew it must’ve been good his eyes were bigger than the coin.

The Mass Copper has eluded me. Nice find. Needs a peroxide bath. The detail will be great on that one. If no period after "S",(looks like),....It appears to be either Ryder 6-N or 13-N. Common and scarce respectively.

Easily one of the best finds this season, I'm glad I was there to share it. Would be nice to get a better image of it, if people could see the shape it's in I think many would agree it has a shot at the banner. Just don't see the Mass coins that often. Awesome coin. Love the design on that one. Any chance you re-scanned the hole? It looks as if it may have been resting against another coin in the ground judging by the way it is less corroded in the center. Congrats!
