Early this morning, my dad and I went on an adventure. We had alot of fun, so I am going to tell you our story. We were out for an hour, the temperature was 30 degrees, we were at my school playground searching and searching.......THEN FINALLY, we got a hit. It was big, so I dug and dug, but could not find anything. All of a sudden I heard my dad yell "I got a coin". I had him come over and check my hole, but he had no hit, so I went on. Then I found this cool Penguin button , I think its the best find.
Next thing, my dad said he found another coin. I just keep searching. Finally, I got another hit. This one was good. My dad checked it. On his detector, it was showing a ring. I was so excited! We dug and dug and finally got something. I looked and it was...........foil. I was sad. I turned around and found a gold earing. It was awesome! My dad could not believe it! My dad found a spot full of hits and said that I could have them, so he told me were they were and I started digging. TWO PENNIES! One wheat and the other regular.
We started walking toward this big pile of dirt, my dad started swinging his detector and got a hit. I started climbing higher and higher and swinging my detector and finally............nothing. Then we decided to just go home. So we started toward the car, my dad's detector still on and................BOOM! Another hit. The detector said half dollar, so we dug and kept on digging. Finally we see this rusty little thing. What is it? I grabbed it...looked at it...and RAN! It was awesome! He thought it was pretty cool. The half dollar hit was an old lock.......You know...lock and key. It had a globe on it that said GLOBE. Even if we were walking back to the truck, he still finds the better find.
So, after all, my dad and I had a pretty good time.

I had another great time as always......When you can go out and share this hobby with friends and family its priceless.........! What is so cool about this story is that my daughter is the one that wanted to do this playground . When she came to me one day and said "Dad....i think we should go to my school playground and detect it"....... Now that was interesting ! So I asked her why? She replied , The kids there lost stuff when I was there so if we find it we can return it! Now as a parent we all want our kids to show respect and know when to do the right thing. After hearing that I just had to take her out to that playground and give it a go!
Its not about the finds ...I said! Its about having fun with who ever you're with! Even if they do find something better than you do!!!
