Found this about ten years ago in a mole hill, a couple miles away from where the Cowlitz River spills into the Columbia River. It's extremely small, and as you can see it is an agate. I imagine it was probably used to hunt small game due to its small size. I don't have any idea on the age, and any info on it is greatly appreciated!

have a sort of what we call a gem point, made from agate, which is real common out here in the PNW. The size and shape of it place it in 200 to 500 year old range. The area where you found it is in the Chinook tribal area. They were a very important group and were the people that Lewis and Clark ended up with. They are not a recognized tribe today but a few bands were placed on other reservations. They do have a tiny reservation along with the Chehalis called Shoalwater bay. Many of their descendants still live in their historic lands...they never left.

the link below is a good example of gem points.

Thank you very much for enlightening me. I have always been extremely curious about the history behind this point. It is what sparked my interest in historical artifacts and relics. I really appreciate you taking time to give me a link to check out. I love learning about the local history here in Cowlitz County. Thanks a bunch!
