I went out after work last night, figured that I would try the school yard that gave up the '44 quarter last week. It's close to the house and easy to hunt, so why not go for a little swing, and who knows something might turn up... a silver quarter turned up last week...

I got a little clad and a little junk, then I got a '38 wheatie, that's the first wheat cent that I have found at the site... good..good..

I drifted over to the area where I found the quarter... and BAM... loud shallow high signal... ALMOST like an aluminum can... almost..

About 4" down I hit something.. oops... I reached in the hole and pulled out what looked like a big coin... I wiped off the back and could hardly believe what I thought that I was seeing... I went up to the truck and rinsed the face off... and... WOW... a tarnished, but beautiful 1934 WALKER!

I was just speechless.... still am. Yesterday was just my lucky day.

That's the biggest and best coin that I have ever dug up! It is "lucky" #13YTD silver.

Thanks for looking.

Tom, that's a beauty. Although big silver it does only count as one silver coin in our good natured yearly silver competition. I know you need the Lesche tools to get the targets out of the ground. I just wish they didn't seem to gouge them as often as they do. Congratulations on your first large silver.

Congrats Tom thats a nice one..:occasion14:

Hello Beez0404... I completely understand your confusion in regards to the "Big Silver".... as your largest silver is a quarter, you have NO idea what these magical coins are like, or how much they count in the (not so) good natured yearly silver challenge.

It's a Walker... a half dollar... it eats Mercs and Rosies for breakfast... that is how it got so incredibly LARGE. And let me tell you, this is one large lump of silver!

As for the Lesche mark, she was trying to get away from me, and I had no choice, but to get a little rough!

Ahhhh.... I love the smell of gloating in the morning.

Thanks Jay! I really appreciate all your help with the Deus.. and your friendship. I am really happy with the find, you know that. You are always welcome to come and hunt with me, I will take you to the place where I found it. GL&HH!

Thats the thriller silver there, thats a keeper! Out here so far no big silver of any sort this year, ground is hard a rock too now. So have stopped with the detecting, thanks for sharing the finds here bro!

Nice big silver, congrats!

AWESOME find Tom !! Beautiful coin!! I like the feeling after a find like that..walking on a pink cloud for the rest of the day..not caring what you dig after that. Thanks very much for sharing..HH..ddf

How did you clean it? You did a great job getting all the crud off of it!

Great find CTom! Love it if you'd post Deus details over in the Deus forum regarding your hunt!

Great find!! its unreal seeing something that big coming out of the ground

I'm very happy for you, nice find/save. Did you find her with your Deus?
I have typed two times a long reply to your thread and my computer crashed twice.
Just in case you have not done it yet? I would grid off that site by doing 20ft X 20ft areas from every direction. That sounds like a not so pounded site since you are pulling quarters and halfs there. Low and slow, every square inch.
Nice job!

Nice one. Congratulations!
