My first cache!

You just never know what you may find when you start digging that hole. It's like unwrapping a present every time. This time it wasn't the type of cache i was hoping to find but it was still interesting and surprising. I found these .308 Winchester RP rounds in a patch of woods behind the 1800s home permission i hunt regularly and they were Deep! The equinox picked them up at 12"-14" deep with a solid ID of 16. I also found the other items shown in the same patch of woods. Last week i dug a Springfield bayonet scabbard tip there. Thanks for looking.

I figured the same thing. they probably left the box out there and forgot about it. They started manufacturing the .308 ammo in 1952 so no telling how long its been there.
