My First Gold Ring

I have been metal detecting for almost a year now and finally found my first gold ring. At least I believe it is a gold ring. Engraved in it are the letters “K. THANH” and the numbers “9999”. At least I think the letters are “THANH”. Whatever metal it is, it’s very shiny.

##$#@%^%%$#$$% just kidding, nice find and since it is 24k, only way to beat it is to find 1 with diamonds, or 2 gold rings at least 14K at same time. You got your work cut out, now get to swinging.

LOL. Actually my wife is holding the ring. When she saw the picture, her first comment was. "Wow, look how dirty my finger nails are; you don't plan on posting that picture do you?"

As for getting back out there, I retuned to the same beach the next afternoon and again found another gold ring (18K). As I was looking to see if it had a k. stamped in it I dropped it. I imminently began to panic, thinking oh no I just lost a gold ring. After regaining my composure and a few deep breaths, I pinpointed the ring and attempted to scoop it up. It seemed like once I knew I was digging a gold ring, it took a lot longer to get it into the scoop.
