I had some time to kill on Sunday so I decided to check a creek for some arrow heads. The creeks have been very low due to the lack of rain in the last 30 days. No luck but I headed up to detect a site that I found an 1866 2 cent piece on earlier this month. I was loaded up with bug spray this time, can't stand the ticks. Well this area is very trashy and I use a big coil so I found a lot of iron. I searched around the old stone fireplace where I dug this nice 1856 Large Cent. This is my first. It's a nice heavy coin. I did rub it a bit with steel wool to see the date. Now I am excited about getting back there to find more! :icon_pirat:

I am hoping to find more at the same location, I have been researching the area and I hope to find a cache there someday.

Great job! Now the coppers will just pour into your pouch...keep putting yourself in early sites and you'll see.
