Whites DFX 300, Surf PI Pro
Went out to a hillside by an old school in Southern Cal and found my first merc. At first I thought it was a 21 before I washed the dirt off. But a 44 is ok. No mint mark. Found it with the yeller feller (Ace 250).
I'm so glad I finally found a merc - I've been detecting for about 6 months now and ready for a DFX.
Across the street in a vacant lot I found a '30 wheatie. Not a bad morning.

Very nice dime. Its always nice to find one of them.

Congrats on your first Merc! Scour that hillside some more and you just may find a few more! Kids love to slide down hills, even back in the day when they didn't have video games to keep them home. ;D

Congrats on your first Merc. Stick with the Ace until you get use to it. It will get some good stuff.

WTG MoutainGoat! Your story is the same as mine. I have been at this for about 6 months and I found my first Mercury dime today! Been a long time coming. Feels that way anyhow. LOL

Congrats again!

Always fun to find a first! Congrats!

You never forget your first one. Mine was on a club hunt and I hit it next to a sidewalk about 4 inches down in front of a torn down house. I went nuts with my Ace 250

Congrats,

Congratulations! The feeling of digging up any old silver coin is great, and it never seems to lessen. That 1930-S cent is not an easy one to find, either. In fact, there were only about 11% as many 1930-S cents minted as there were 1944 dimes, so the fact is, the cent is a much better find.

Great job!

Mike

Nice looking Merc dude.
