Went to Corpus and had my first night hunt in the water, that is the way to go, I loved it. I got to the wet sand, turned on my machine and took one step and BAMMMMMMMMMM, out comes the 14k gold diamond ring ;D I am still wearing this silly grin ;D Got into the water my second hit was the six flags ring, and I thought damn this is the life. Well not much after that some change, but after the first ring you know I was happy and no reason to get all greedy. Time flew out there I got there around 11:30 and left around 4am. My brother was with me, and sad sad sad, he turned on his excal and blah blah blah, the battery was dead, He had charged it but has found so many rings this month with it that he must of worn the battery completely out . So now he needs to order a new battery. Poor guy, I felt bad since he hadn't gotten any sleep from work and I dragged him out there. I think he is my good luck charm, too bad I have the opposite effect on him and seem to bring him bad luck.

I get to my dads fall into bed and 3hrs later get woke up by my dad banging around in the kitchen. He wakes up at day break and when ever I am there insists on making me breakfast, which is really really sweet of him. (just not on 3hrs of sleep) so I drag my butt out of bed, eat, and visit with him a bit. Then I just can't stand it I jump in the truck and head back out to the beach. That is when I got the silver ring and the cross. On the back of the cross it says Faith and Grace. I love this hobby

Great finds .... I must have missed them somehow ... :tongue3: ...
That area will produce a goodie now and then but we try not to leave too much of that for out-of-towners ... ;D ...

I agree that what is lurking on land is more dangerous than what is out in the water.
The Jellyfish are not too bad this year ... yet! Haven't seen any blue man of wars in the bay so far.
I have never water hunted at night but it sounds reasonable ... for a treasure nut that is ... ...
And as hot as it is getting during the day now that might just be the way to go.

Looking forward to seeing what the 4th of July crowd leaves behind this year.

The local Corpus Christi club meeting is tonight (Thur 700pm)
You would be very welcome if you can make it and the members would be interested in what you found and how you found it. Call me if you need any information

Willie---out of towner my butt! ;D(even now when people ask where we are from I answer Corpus)
I spend more time there on weekends then in the valley. We are trying to move back as soon as we are able to. I am actually a member of the CC club, but can't make the meetings during the week since I reside in the Valley. I haven't made a hunt there in awhile either. Did you make it to the picnic? My brother is also a member, you probably know him and his wife, Kevin and Phyllis.

Before the water warmed up, back when I still needed a wet suit, I was running into the jellyfish but they were no where near as bad this year then last. Holy smokes last year that is all you saw the entire bay was covered with them. Nasty little buggers so glad I am not dealing with them now.

Maybe we will run into each other this weekend, I am heading that direction today after work. ;D
