Got out for awhile day before yesterday. The only open ground to be found was along the lakeshore.I was able to remove hunks of frozen leaves that had gathered between boulders. Here's a nice little plummet...mjm IMG_20150121_081840_038.webp

Here's a point they couldn't get reduced.IMG_20150121_081957_008.webp

Then here's a piece of slate that shows signs of being reduced for possible use as an adze or how....mjmIMG_20150121_090450_517.webp

Wow you had a good day. On the last one if I found it I would say Hoe. I guess slate use to be a good hard stone back in the day.

Nice finds. I can't imagine having to do the things you have to do to look. I just go out to a field and walk. That is one advantage to living in south Georgia.

Cool! At least your on a roll.

Dang! Good find(s) MJMan! I have looked along the narrow patches along waterways before. It can be a great time to hunt- at least where I was. The tide would push ice chunks up and back, stirring the sand and gravel/rocks all up and often revealing things you'd never get to see. Congrats! Yakker

Thanks guys! Well Americus I started hunting artifacts in Illinois so I am no stranger to field hunting.I can see why huge collections are amassed. The only advantages I feel that I have is the scenery,no plow strikes and nobody else looking. The disadvantages are obvious.Which include the 6" plus snowfall were expecting today.....Decisions to make do I want to go out one more time before it hits or is this it till spring.....stay tuned....mjm
