My First Readable Colonial......1736'

Ty and I first started this rainy morning out at an old 1700's house that we have pounded pretty hard,a few old coin's and relic's by Ty and that was about it,a little CW break......I got a few keeper's but nothing like this afternoon's hunt!!!! Brand Spanking New Spot.....1740 House......Pouring down rain pretty much all day here,I even had to "bag" the detector for a couple hour's.We probably only hunted a hour and a half maybe before it let loose again!!!! But here it is,my First and Dateable "old" Copper....I think a 1736....Cloud Nine Baby!!!!! Soaking in mild detergent and some luke warm water until I can figure out how to "revive" this thing.....Thank's for Looking and HHx2 !!!!!

I see how the photo could be mistaken for a 1756,
But I have seen it up close and personal, it is a 1736.
Maybe this graphic will help.

Beautiful! But OK...so it's obviously a GeorgeII Half Penny...but the date has me curious...I too think it says 1756, but can't find a date range for that coin anywhere and I can only find this 1752 version. Maybe one of the UK members knows of the date range? There is a British evasion coin, GeorgeII half penny but the reverse is different than this one...

But OK...so it's obviously a GeorgeII Half Penny...but the date has me curious...I too think it says 1756, but can't find a date range for that coin anywhere and I can only find this 1752 version. Maybe one of the UK members knows of the date range? There is a British evasion coin, GeorgeII half penny but the reverse is different than this one...

No Romeo I see 1756 also..I even copied the photo an used the negative feature to be sure..it definitely in my opinion a 1756 KGII Rex

If my reply posts twice, sorry...but dont see the recent post so trying again. I still see it as a 56 in the pic, but going with civilman's positive claim that is it a 36, I still cannot find record of this coin...and an enhanced view of Murrays photos shows the same issue I had with mine...the bust is concave in one and convex in the other...

Some may want to save this photo, if you can see the ribbons, you can usually rough date a KGII to either 1729-39 (Young Head) or 1740-54 (Old Head style).
