My first ring...yessss

The elderly lady next door asked me yesterday to run over her yard with the mower to chop up the leaves after seeing me finish my yard, so I gladly knocked it out right before dark. I noticed a few dog holes here and there so I got out there first thing this morning and filled them in. I didn't want to see her stepping in one and breaking a bone. She came out later and asked what she owed me and I told her "Not a thing." She asked again, so I asked if it would be okay to metal detect her yard. She told me to go right ahead (which sure beats "Go right to hell.") I didn't have a lot to do so about an hour later, I got out there and unlike the lot across the street, it was nice and clean of trashy signals. In five minutes, I found an unusual brass machine screw, a '57 wheatie and this ring. Not 14k gold with diamonds, but I was tickled to find it. Had to abort as quickly as I started when my daughter drove up, but I look forward to hitting this yard again when I get another chance.

I'm with you matey! One of my favorite rings is my Snake Plissken ring. Not sure if it's old or rare but, it certainly has COOL FACTOR! You can't put a value on COOL!

Holy crap this ring is cool. That ring might have a Masonic connection. The skull and bones is one of our symbols. If so, this ring wouldn't be older than the 1750's.

I think you're right about it being a kid's ring, because it is adjustable, just not showing in my pictures. A lot of fun finding it either way!
