Well I didn't let the weather stop me today, and I am glad of it! I pulled my first seated coin. A 1891 seated dime. This thing is so worn down. Let's see who has the most worn down coin, I would love to see some of your finds! HH DSC00433.webpDSC00435.webpDSC00438.webp

I grade that coin as HEAVILY circulated. HEAVILY I SAY!

So you really found half a dime? Hmm makes you wonder about where all that extra silver has gone. Worn off on peoples hands and pockets but where did it collect?

Still a cool find. My oldest coin so far is a 1997 quarter. I'm finding all new coins so far.

Congrats! Here's few of mine, first is a Rosie then a clipped smooth barber and a few slq's.

And a few British coppers all found in a spill

Only the holed one has a date of 1806

This has to be up there. Obverse on the right coin only has the 1784 date visible and reverse isn't much better (half real)

How bout a poor representation of our lady liberty with the only visible mark being 75! Bless her Heart!

Here is one I found. If you hold it just right you can barely make out part of the seated lady.

This was a recent bust dime find. Was dug together with 9 other coins. The bust dime next to it was one of the other 9. The only thing showing are a few faint lines in the shield. Other side is completely smooth.

Wow! Very cool. That barber is very worn.

These are all cool, if they could only tell a story right! It was almost dark and it took me about three minutes just to see what it was! December 16 in Michigan, and still going out MD'ing, Gotta Love It

Better than finding a 1991 dime!

I won't bother with photos, but had plenty of 'totally blank' silver coins - sixpences most common, & some Shillings.

Ha! Some great old worn coins. I got this one just this past Saturday.

I had a 1777 half reale that I gave away that had a barely visable ghost image of the '77' and 'Car' that I used to ID but it was as thin as paper. I'll have to see if I can find any old pictures.

I found this back in April. It sounded like a dime, but I wasn't sure what I had. My friend had me convinced that it wasn't a coin, but when I got home I noticed the reeded edge. I rotated it and flipped it and rotated it some more but still saw only a few lines with no detail. Finally I had the right orientation and noticed the Seated Liberty's profile.

My best guess is that this coin circulated well into the 20th century!
