Hi,
I am new to this site, but I have been MD hunting for the last 1.5/2 mos or so, and have a TON of clad, a TON of pull tabs and junk, and a bit of everything else.
Today, I went to a new park, earlier, in the morning. After politely dismissing a few "unusual" characters
, I began on the sandy beach area. The only things of note were some copper pennies, and a HUGE iron nail, none of which I left on the beach.
I moved to the grassy area between the parking area and beach. I got nonstop penny signals, and from the "toneless wasteland" I had just come from, I was eager to dig anything. My first find was another copper penny, and a friendly conversation with a Grandmother and her curious grandkids. They were all very nice. About 16 seconds after they left, I found a ring, it looked like a tiny chain, in the shape of a ring, not silver, but still better than pennies or pull tabs! the very next dig, I got a pull tab signal and thought, "what the heck" and pulled a slightly bent, shiny ring, a toe ring, with a small ruby. closer examination revealed the ring to be a .925 sterling ring, my very first silver ring!
Not large, but there is a first time for everything. With all the friendly folks, and the great weather, I have no complaints whatsoever
. I plan to go back soon, to cover the rest of my new searchgrounds. Its not a "goldmine" or anything, but anyone up for an early start this coming Saturday is welcome to email me to come along and detect.
