Woke up early and worked on my new old boat, 1996 sixteen foot Carolina Skiff. The weather was much cooler, but the humidity is in the 90% range. I was rebuilding the hubs on the trailer and was very sweaty, decided at 3:00 pm to go for a dip at my honey hole. second target was this 1911 V nickel, my first ever. If you have noticed I have been asking for this for awhile.

I then chased a few targets and came up with the two rings, it was cold but I kept hitting good 50's signals and I gritted my teeth (to stop them chattering) and kept hunting. I finally got to another 50ish target and like the rings it was deep. I was in water up to my chin (I'm 6 ft tall) Finally after digging Approximately 18 " I look in the scoop and there was a Indian buffalo(1928) in there. I checked the hole and heard a blast high tone, up comes a 1945 Quarter, then another mid scratchy tone, another buffalo Indian(1927). I lasted about an hour then left. I'm a very happy hunter, but still cold!
Enjoy the pix, HH & GL

Awesome, I'm so into water hunts right now, if I'm not doing it myself, I'm reading about other people's hunts! Beautiful finds thanks for posting!

I haven't attempted any real water hunts yet but I'm dying to try. I'll have to rig up something to waterproof one of my machines. I do NOT want to ruin anything so when I do reach that point I want to do it right with no chance of any equipment disasters.

I did attempt to find a lost wedding ring for a kid at the beach but the water was just too deep for my machine.

Yeah I did along with everyone else that found one recently

Maybe its a trend. Seems like there was a walking liberty trend for a few weeks and now it seems like a few V nickels are being posted and a lot of IH cents. I've found both in the past two weeks and they are very elusive for me to find. Must be the full-moon or something.

That was me last year, but I never got comfortable using a land detector in the water, so this year I got an AT Pro and now it seems I spend most of my time in the water hunting. It's so much fun, I got hooked immediately!

WOW.... great finds bud. you're killing it out there..

the silver cleaned up great, you are using higher amps than a phone charger aren't you?

It's my son and I, Old dude can't make it.
It should be a good time, site sounds awesome

He says his son complains less frequently about needing to pee.
As a matter of fact, I may take up water hunting...it would save me a fortune in Depends.

Awesome scoops there treblehunter !! Looks like a good old swimming spot, your killing it out there =D

Howdy Brad! That is a fantastic day of hunting. Once you get that Carolina Skiff ready to go your water hunting possibilities will be endless. I'm picturing you along the rocks on Liberty Island at that spot where people have been throwing coins into the water for luck for over 100 years!! Congratulations too on your first V nickel. When I found mine I had no clue what it was but knew it was cool.

Another great benefit That I also enjoy!

really excellent finds. my guess is the ring with the polygon shaped stone dates as old as the buffalo nickles, as well as the engraved yellow gold ring

What do you think the stone is?
